Hello
I am Anastasiya Sjödin, an illustrator with a historical and linguistic background working in Luleå, Sweden. My illustrations are inspired by everyday people, places and things, with the simple aim of making others smile. Expect plenty of jokes and a healthy dose of sarcasm, but don’t expect a life-changing message. The illustrations and other bits and bobs are just silly for the sake of being silly.
While my primary focus remains hand-painted watercolours, I frequently explore a diverse range of media, including lino printing, pastels, and acrylics, as well as sculptural works in self-dry clay and papier-mâché. Beyond static imagery, my digital stop-motion animations have been used in commercials and for internal communications within various companies.
To be kinder to nature, everything in my shop is made on demand.
My academic background impacts my creative process. I hold a degree in Contemporary Art, Cultural Heritage, and Tourism Management from EHU in Lithuania, as well as a qualification in Business Development for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry from YH Akademin in Sweden. At the moment I am fulfilling my dream and studying English and English Literature at the University of West in Sweden.
When I’m not working with naïve art prints or silly illustrations, I serve as a full-time guide at Luleå Walks and a part-time guide at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Gammelstad Church Town.
